Chillin in the pit

Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

Drag racing is a high adrenaline and community sport. Anyone can compete and no two people have the same setup its great to see what combinations people can put together to create horsepower and they are more than happy to talk to you if you show an interest in their car.

Why do you compete?

I'm pretty competitive in almost everything and I really enjoy the thrill and rush of driving as fast as i can and seeing what a tweak here and there can do for my ETs. I always feel like I can do a little better than my previous pass and strive for perfection.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Right now I'm taking a welding course and plan on taking an automotive course right after. I enjoy working with my hands and making things so I think a machinist trade or hot rod mechanic will be a career that I will love to do.

What inspires you to compete?

I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I push myself do better everytime I compete, also my father is the one who built the car and got me into racing he has been a wrench his whole life but because of his health problems had to quit racing. he was about to sell the car but I moved to London to stay with him and he gave me a chance to drive. He is my number 1 sponsor and without his support I would probably be up to no good. I just want to carry on his dream.

Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

My dad and his buddies bought and built the car and when I moved to London I took over driving. They have supported me all the way.

List your competitive highlights:

I have the best reaction times for anyone who has driven the car. My personal best is 0.007 of a second. Placed top 10 my first time racing in Grand Bend and would have gone further but the track had to be closed due to weather.

What are you planning for next season?

I just blew up my bb429 so a bb ford 460ci is being built to handle NOS, upgrade rear suspension to dual adjustable coil overs, convert rear windshield to lexan, bigger slicks with aluminum rims for front and back, bigger camshaft, and I'm going to run points in Grand Bend with a goal of being top 10 by the end of the season.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Getting dialed at the lights so no matter what car I'm up against, slower or faster, I can win by the holeshot I get from my reaction times.
